Cost of UK Student Visa (Tier-4 General Student Visa)

Tier 4 general student visa’s application process includes costs for different steps which sums up to the average amount of £348 for each person applying from outside the UK. Also, there are additional costs that can apply to your visa application based on you conditions including “Immigration Health Surcharge” (HIS), Document translation costs if your documents are not in English, bank deposits for proof of financial support and English language test costs in order to provide proof of your English proficiency.

Cost of UK Student Visa (Tier-4 Child Student Visa)

Tier-4 child student visa’s application process includes several steps, some of which include expenses. As such, the total cost for child student visa sums up to £348 on average per person applying from outside the UK. Additionally, extra costs can apply to your visa application based on your specific conditions which include “Immigration Health Surcharge” (HIS), Document translation costs if your documents are not in English, bank deposits for proof of financial support and English language test costs in order to provide proof of your English proficiency. Also, since child student visa holders are legally under age they will have to either be accompanied by a parent or apply for guardianship services which will in turn have additional costs. Subsequently, the accompanying parent needs to apply for a separate “Dependent Visa” which will incur additional costs.

Cost of UK Student Visa (Short-term Study Visa)

Short term study visas have 2 different types which will allow passage to UK for the purposes of studying at a short-term course. Therefore, you can apply for each of these visa types based on your course length. The average cost for a 6-month short-term study visa is £96, and for an 11-month short-term study visa the average cost sums up to £186. As for case-specific addition costs you may have to pay for Document translation costs if your documents are not in English, bank deposits for proof of financial support and English language test costs in order to provide proof of your English proficiency. Also, if you are an applicant under the age of 18, you will have to be accompanied by a dependent whom you will have to identify in your visa application. Also, if you are traveling to study in the UK on your own, you will have to employ the services of a guardian in the UK which will incur further expenses.
