Dorking

The town nestles in the narrow valley between the Greensand Hills to the south and the chalk hills of the North Downs. Almost anywhere within Dorking there are glimpses out towards the Surrey Hills providing a dramatic backdrop to the day-to-day activities of the town. The countryside in turn provides panoramic views of Dorking. The spire of the parish church of St Martin’s is one of the tallest in the country and it acts as a landmark for visitors and local people alike.
