Enjoy summer, enjoy learning English! Our special English and Oxford summer course combines themed English lessons in class with outdoor activities. Practise your English language skills in real life situations! Each week you will have some of your lessons in class and some ‘out and about’ in Oxford. In the classroom lessons you prepare for your outdoor activities. The skills you learn and practise will boost your confidence using English! If you have an Upper-Intermediate level of general English or higher and are keen to use your English skills in real-life social and cultural situations, and to get the most out of summer, English and Oxford is for you! Discover some of the best Oxford has to offer! There are 2 weekly modules: Module 1: University City and Scientific Oxford - learn about Oxford University, its traditions, some famous former students and its place in the British Education system. Learn too about some of the famous scientists associated with Oxford, their lives and their discoveries. Includes a tour Oxford Colleges and a science tour of Oxford (including a visit to the Museum of the History of Science). Module 2: Literary Oxford and messing about on the River - Oxford has been home to many famous writers, including Lewis Carroll (Alice in Wonderland), C.S. Lewis (the Narnia books) and J.R.R. Tolkien (Lord of the Rings). Learn more about some of these writers and their books! Throughout history the river has been central to life in Oxford. Learn more about life on the river, and using the river as a guide, improve your knowledge of English vocabulary and the language of socialising. Includes a tour of sites associated with Oxford’s writers, a river walk and picnic.

Entry Requirements


Level of English required: An Upper-Intermediate level of General English or higher. Minimum age: 16

Study for 1 or 2 weeks. Fees for 1 week are £101. Course fees for 2 weeks are £200.
