International Diploma in Business (IDB) The IDB provides an introduction to the business environment and the basic operational functions of an organisation. It is available to college leavers and mature students across the globe who wish to obtain an internationally recognised business qualification that sets them on a path to employment in the growing world of business. On successful completion of the IDB, you will be eligible to move on to the International Advanced Diploma in Business (IADB). International Advanced Diploma in Business (IADB) Available to college leavers and mature students across the globe who may or may not have studied the IDB, the IADB builds on the Diploma studies whilst developing your managerial knowledge and awareness. On successful completion of the IADB, you will be eligible to move on to the BA (Hons) in Business Management Top Up. Work Placement/Internship (optional) The work placement provides you with the opportunity to transfer the knowledge acquired during the IDB/IADB into practical business skills which are essential for those seeking to enter into a successful career in business and management. Previous students have gone on to work as human resource, administration, marketing or accounting trainees in various sectors including finance, retail and education. BA (Hons) in Business Management – Top Up Aimed at producing graduates who are empowered with the skills and knowledge sought by employers in today’s competitive global workplace, the BA (Hons) in Business Management is designed to give you an overall understanding of key business functions such as marketing, finance, human resources and project management. On this course you will learn how to evaluate business models critically and how to apply them to real business situations at a strategic level. In short, the Top Up is a natural development to the IADB or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business.

The types of work placement offered are varied but typically include: • Shadowing - literally following someone around to learn how they do their job. • More general roles that involve helping out with all aspects of a department or company while learning how things work, such as general office management activities. • A specific role on a particular project or in a particular department, such as assisting with business or technical assignments. Placements can be ‘a foot in the door’ for you. Employers often use them as part of their graduate recruitment process.
