We are a friendly English language school with a maximum of 200 students on language courses, so we can keep our 'personal touch', yet we offer a variety of business English and IELTS classes as well as general English courses and classes at all levels. International House Newcastle has a video room, a self-access computer area with free internet and e-mail facilities to help you learn English.

Social Activities


IH Newcastle has many students from all over the world. They all like to do different things in their free time. The social programme uses Newcastle and places near the school to find something for everybody to give the students a good time outside the classroom. Newcastle has a very famous nightlife with lots of restaurants, pubs, bars and nightclubs. It also has cinemas, theatres, art galleries and museums, live music, bowling alleys and sport centres. These are all close to the school, making it difficult for the students to get bored. The social programme also does day trips to places outside Newcastle. We go to places like York, Edinburgh and the Lake District every week. We have cheap transport and special school prices for tourist attractions. Students can enjoy places in England at a very good price. IH Newcastle has very high standards in the classroom, and the social programme likes to extend these standards to the students’ social life to give them a great time in Newcastle. Visit the wonderful ancient castles of Northumbria. See Hadrian's Wall, one of the largest monuments of the Roman Empire and travel to The Lake District - an area which has inspired some of England's finest writers with its natural beauty.
