General Info
Our year-round school, on Trim Street, is located in the historic General Wolfe's House,an early 18th century town house in the very heart of the city. (General Wolfe captured Quebec in a famous battle in 1742). The Roman Baths, the Pump Rooms, the Abbey, shops and restaurants are all within a few minutes' walk of the school. Our second building on Milsom Street is two minutes' walk from our Trim Street building and offers more spacious classrooms. Bath is one of the most visited, best preserved historic cities in Britain, combining period splendour with a modern and dynamic town centre. Like Oxford and Cambridge, Bath is home to one of Britain's most prestigious universities and offers a rich cultural heritage, which includes a fine 15th century abbey, Roman Baths, historic houses and numerous museums and theatres.
Accommodation Info
Most students stay with local host families. Families are carefully chosen and regularly checked to ensure a high standard of welcome for and compatibility with our students whether young teenagers or professional men and women. Students are normally placed with families living from 10 to 30 minutes from the school. Our host families are asked to write to their student guests before they arrive and meet them at the bus or train station on arrival in Bath. Our student accommodation and welfare co-ordinator is always available to talk to students or their host families. Normally you are expected to arrive on the Sunday before your course begins and leave on the Saturday after the course finishes. The family will provide you with breakfast and evening meal during the week and will include a light lunch at the weekend. You will have your own bedroom but share the family bathroom. The family will provide bed linen and will take care of a reasonable amount of personal laundry. There may be one or two other students staying in the family at the same time but none of the same nationality. Your hosts could be, for example, two parents and their children; a young couple without children; mature couples whose children have left home; single women who may be unmarried, divorced or widowed and who live alone or with their children. If you have a specific request about the make-up of your host family please let us know before you come and we will try to meet your requirements. *Students aged 12 and 13 years old will only be accepted as part of a group. They will be accommodated in a twin room with a fellow student from their group.
