ELC was founded in 1962 and is a non-profit making charitable educational foundation. Since then, we have built our reputation on providing quality English language teaching to international students. Our status as a charitable educational foundation means we invest all our surpluses in the services we offer our students and clients. In this way we can help you achieve your goals. Students come from all over the world. You can book directly with us or through an agent in your own country. You will be joining students from more than 40 countries. Brighton & Hove, on England's south coast, is one of the UK's finest cities. It offers a great environment to study in and is only 80 kilometres from London, with easy access to Heathrow and Gatwick airports. To help you make the most of your stay at ELC, you need to know that you will be happy in your accommodation. Most students choose homestay accommodation which we believe is an integral part of learning about the English culture. Others choose the freedom of a hotel or self catering student accommodation. Whichever you choose, you can be sure of the highest standards. Homestay Living in homestay accommodation in Brighton & Hove provides you with the perfect opportunity to experience English life and to practise using your English in everyday situations. All our homestays are carefully selected by our Accommodation Department who understand the needs of students from other countries. Homestay provides a friendly, safe and homely environment: - carefully selected homestay accommodation - single bedrooms with study facilities - shared rooms available on request - breakfast and evening meal served every day - only one person of the same nationality per home
Social Activities
ELC organises a full programme of weekend excursions and afternoon and evening social activities. There is something to do or see every day of the week. Social Activities On the first evening of each course there is a social evening to give new students a chance to get to know each other and to meet other students already at ELC. We offer a wide range of afternoon and evening activities including sports, local visits, film evenings and quizzes. We also organise a tour of Brighton, which is a great way for new students to get to know the city. Other local tours during your stay at ELC may include: Lewes and Arundel, historic towns each with its own castle and ancient town buildings the beautiful village of Rottingdean where you can enjoy a traditional cream tea local beauty spots such as Devil's Dyke, with its breathtaking views of the Sussex countryside, or the dramatic cliff top of Beachy Head. Weekend Excursions We organise a variety of full day excursions at weekends throughout the year. These excursions can be booked and paid for when you are at ELC.
