Description


This programme is for students from the European Economic Area (EEA) who wish to study English at a British Council Accredited School and then follow a period of work experience. Students attend school for 1, 2 or 4 weeks, followed by a work placement within the hotel and catering industry from 12 to 26 weeks. Students normally receive information about their work placement prior to their course start date. The Study programme concentrates on the specialised language and the practical skills required in the hotel and catering industry in the UK. Students who do not have an advanced level of English on entry to the School will also follow a General English course to develop their language skills.

COURSE CONTENT SW1 1 week of Work Preparation (20 lessons -15 hours) for advanced level students (shown on database) SW2 1 week of General English (20 lessons - 15 hours) & 1 week of Work Preparation (20 lessons - 15 hours) for upper intermediate level students and above £300 SW4 3 weeks of General English (60 lessons - 45 hours) & 1 week of Work Preparation (20 lessons - 15 hours) for intermediate level students and above £500 SW40 1 week of Work Preparation & General English (40 lessons - 30 hours) for upper intermediate level students and above £350 SW80 1 week of General English (40 lessons - 30 hours) & 1 week of Work Preparation & General English (40 lessons - 30 hours) for intermediate level students and above £550 TUITION Lessons in General English & Specialised English for 1, 2 or 4 weeks prior to placement Accommodation arranged by English 2000 in Host Family WORK EXPERIENCE 12 - 26 weeks work placement within UK in the Hospitality industry Hours specified by the placement provider (usually a full time position) National Minimum Wage Accommodation arranged either by the placement provider or external accommodation through English 2000 COURSE ACCREDITATION An English 2000 Language Certificate. A work experience certificate validated by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) (optional): £100 A work reference from the placement provider (if requested) PLEASE NOTE: Care home placements are available on request. Students will receive a guided self-study pack instead of the specialised tuition. They will receive induction/training at the work place. Minimum work placement 20 weeks
