Description
The Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Management programmes are best suited to participants with a minimum Intermediate level of English on entry (IELTS 5.5 for the certificate; IELTS 5.0 for the higher certificate, diploma and foundation), who are seeking a professional skills programme specialising in English, travel, tourism and hospitality management. The courses are aimed at young professionals and students who are seeking a career or further study in international travel and tourism and require proficiency in English. Depending on the options selected by students, these courses lead to awards from BBSI and Virgin Atlantic Airways, City & Guilds (Vocational Key Skills Certificate). To meet the ever increasing world-wide demand for internationally recognised qualifications, BBSI offers the Virgin Atlantic Fares & Ticketing Levels 1 & 2 qualifications as integral parts of its travel and tourism courses. These qualifications are for people who aspire to the top jobs in airline ticket sales, and therefore need the professional IATA* points that are a prerequisite for a successful career in the travel industry. *(IATA approved travel agencies must have staff who, between them, hold a minimum total of 40 points with 30 being the maximum held by any one person.) Certificate A 12-week (1-term) certificate course (CTT 12) comprises 26 lessons weekly in English, travel, tourism and hospitality management. Students would study term 2 of the diploma programme. The course leads to BBSI, as well as the Virgin Atlantic Fares & Ticketing Certificate, as appropriate (Level 1 or 2). The minimum language proficiency for entry is IELTS 5.5. The Fares & Ticketing Level 1 course commences in January & July annually, whilst Fares & Ticketing Level 2 commences October & April. The Fares & Ticketing Level 1 qualification must b e obtained prior to candidates being eligible for Level 2. Course Content Term 1: Weeks 1-12 16 lessons business communication skills 10 lessons English 4 lessons IT Skills, or IELTS Examination Preparation/Academic Study Skills (UTT only)
