The Travel, Tourism & Business Skills (TBS) programme is an intensive summer course that enables students to study business English skills that focus on travel and tourism. There are 20-lesson (TBS 20) and 30-lesson (TBS 30) options and, for flexibility, the course is modular in format and designed in both structure and content for those requiring English language in the environment of international travel, tourism and hospitality management, who have a work or study-related background in the travel and tourism industry. Entry level is Intermediate (IELTS 5.0), or above. Tourism Components. The specialist components enable learners to focus on current practice in the travel and tourism industry, while also developing vocabulary and professional skills. Elements include: development of tourism travel agency operations marketing & customer service in hospitality travel geography legislation & planning mass & independent operators airline business business travel marketing analysis & research pricing & marketing of package tours tourism & the environment Skills Component writing presentations meetings telephoning negotiating The TBS 30 focuses on developing additional communication skills for the business environment. The teaching materials are varied and mainly authentic, and include audio and video facilities. The extra module specifically designed to build confidence through active participation in such activities as discussions, simulations and role-play.
