The Marketing & Business Skills (MBS) programme is an intensive summer course that enables students to study business English skills that focus on marketing. There are 20-lesson (MBS 20) and 30-lesson (MBS 30) options and, for flexibility, the course is modular in format and designed in both structure and content for those requiring English in an international marketing environment, and who have a work or study-related background in marketing, advertising or public relations. Entry level is Intermediate (IELTS 5.0), or above. Marketing Components. The specialist components enable learners to focus on current marketing issues and case studies, and to develop appropriate business vocabulary and professional skills. Elements include: customer needs & the marketing process segmentation & behaviour products & brands pricing strategies product engineering marketing services distribution channels advertising public relations & sales promotions global marketing management e-Commerce b2b relationship marketing Skills Components writing presentations meetings telephoning negotiating The MBS 30 focuses on developing additional communication skills for the business environment. The teaching materials are varied and mainly authentic, and include audio and video facilities. The extra module specifically designed to build confidence through active participation in such activities as discussions, simulations and role-play.
