The Management & Business Skills (MAN) programme is an intensive summer course that enables students to study business English skills that focus on management. There are 20-lesson (MAN 20) and 30-lesson (MAN 30) options and, for flexibility, the course is modular in format and designed in both structure and content for those requiring English in an international management environment, and who have a work or study-related background in management or administration. Entry level is Intermediate (IELTS 5.0), or above. Management Components The specialist components enable learners to focus on current management issues and cas studies, and to develop appropriate business vocabulary and professional skills. Elements include: managing information & communicating for results customer focus strategic planning and change knowledge management management of change organisational culture introduction to quality management TQM customer-services management using & controlling resources management & current affairs health & safety Skills Components writing presentations meetings telephoning negotiating The MAN 30 focuses on developing additional communication skills for the business environment. The teaching materials are varied and mainly authentic, and include audio and video facilities. The extra module specifically designed to build confidence through active participation in such activities as discussions, simulations and role-play.
