Description


The Management and Business Administration programmes are best suited to participants with a minimum Intermediate level of English on entry (IELTS 5.5 for the certificate; IELTS 5.0 for the higher certificate, diploma and foundation), who are seeking a professional skills programme specialising in English, management and business administration. The courses are aimed at young professionals and students who are seeking a career or further study in management and require proficiency in English. Depending on the options selected by students, these courses lead to awards from BBSI, CMI (Certificate in Management), City & Guilds (Vocational Key Skills Certificate) and NCFE. Higher Certificate Course A 24-week (2-term) higher certificate course (CMB 24) comprises 26 lessons weekly. Depending upon their language entry level and previous knowledge, students can follow one of 2 options: Option 1 comprises Terms 1 and 2 of the diploma course, i.e. English, management and business communication skills. The language entry level is IELTS 5.0. Option 2 comprises Terms 2 and 3 of the diploma course, i.e. English, business, management theory and practice. The language entry level is IELTS 5.5. Term 1: Weeks 1-12 16 Lessons in business communication skills 10 lessons in English 4 lessons IT skills or IELTS Preparation / Academic Study Skills (UMB only) Term 2: Weeks 13-24 16 lessons in management 10 English lessons 4 lessons IELTS Preparation/Academic Study Skills (UMB only) Term 3: Weeks 25-36 10 lessons in management 6 lessons in English 4 lessons IELTS Preparation/Academic Study Skills (UMB only)
