The BBSI University Foundation courses in Legal Studies, European & Commercial Law are best suited to participants with a minimum Intermediate level of English on entry (IELTS 6.0 for the certificate; IELTS 5.5 for the higher certificate, diploma and foundation), who are seeking a professional skills programme specialising in English, and European & international commercial law. The BBSI courses in legal studies and law are aimed at young professionals and students who are seeking a career or further study in law-related fields and require proficiency in English. Depending on the options selected by students, these courses lead to awards from BBSI and NCFE awards, and the City & Guilds (Vocational Key Skills Certificate). Higher-Certificate Course A 24-week (2-term) higher certificate course (CLS 24) comprises 26 lessons weekly. Depending upon their language entry level and previous knowledge, students can follow one of 2 options: Option 1 comprises Term 1 and 2 of the diploma course, i.e. English, business communication skills and European & international commercial law. The language entry level is IELTS 5.5. Option 2 comprises Terms 2 and 3 of the diploma course, i.e. English language, and European & international commercial law. The language entry level is IELTS 6.0. Option 1 includes BBSI and NCFE awards, and the City & Guilds Vocational Key Skills Certificate. Option 2 leads to additional NCFE certification.
