Course in association with York St. John College Programme validated by the University of Leeds The University Foundation Programme provides the opportunity for you to study for one Academic Year (September to June) preparing you for entry into a British or International University. Upon successful completion of your course, students who want to study further at York St John College are guaranteed a place on a bachelors degree programme at this prestigious institution. Students wishing to join the Bloomsbury International University Foundation Programme do so because; Being away from family and friends can be a daunting process. Often large universities can be a little difficult to settle into and we prepare you for this challenge by teaching you the IT skills, language skills and pre-University education you require to be a success at University. By successfully completing our University foundation course you are guaranteed a place at York St John College on a degree programme validated by the University of Leeds. You can also use this qualification to help you in applying to a degree at any other University in the UK. We will give you the confidence to succeed when you embark on your degree course. We strive to create the best possible Language Education providing the very best teaching methods to ensure you are confident enough to carry on your studies with the minimal amount of disruption. At Bloomsbury International we have IT services to compare with most Universities in the country, yet as a smaller organisation you have more chance of accessing these resources. Currently we have over 30 different fixed PC's and displays to provide a variety of services including IT teaching, Internet Access and Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). We have a central London location in the heart of Bloomsbury, London's cultural centre. We have 12,000 square feet of beautifully presented classrooms and other facilities, all tailor-made for your language learning. We will give full support and guidance in filling out UCAS application forms to help you choose a suitable degree course. Programme Aims: To improve your levels of listening, speaking, reading and writing of English in order to cope effectively with academic demands at degree level. To give you a foundation of knowledge and understanding in the subject area you intend to study at degree level. To facilitate understanding of British cultural themes and help you to integrate into the higher education system To provide relevant study skills and lay a suitable academic foundation for further study. Programme Duration & Structure The course will be full-time covering 36 weeks and the maximum number of students in a class will be 16. There are set core modules spanning elements of Language and Language study skills and two modules providing an introduction to your preferred option of University study.
