General Info


Alexanders International School, established in 1975, is a residential school for students aged 11-17 years, located on the Suffolk coast, 2 hours from London. We offer English language courses throughout the year including our 'Foundation Course' which prepares students for UK boarding schools, as well as our popular 'English plus' summer programme. Class sizes are maximum of 15 with all levels available from complete beginners to advanced.

Accommodation Info


Alexanders International School has 4 student residences: Heron House (Girls 11-14) Fulmar House (Boys 11-14) Manor House (Girls 15-17) Beach Houses (Boys 15-17) Each House is staffed by a team of experienced and supportive House Parents. All students are looked after 24 hours a day. Students share bedrooms with 1, 2 or 3 others of the same age & sex but, where possible, a different home language so that English is the language of communication. Each house has an administrative office, small kitchen for snacks, TV and recreational facilities. The Manor The Manor is used for older students and single supplements are available. Fulmar House The Fulmar House has 2, 3 and 4 bed rooms and accommodates our younger boys. Heron House Heron House has 2, 3 and 4 bed rooms and accommodates our younger girls. The Heron House is right next to our new tennis court. The Beach Houses The Beach Houses overlook the River Deben and house senior boys during the summer vacation courses. For the rest of the year they are available to school groups coming to Bawdsey from Britain and all over the world for Art Courses, Field Studies and Discovery and Adventure Weeks.
