Excursions for students studying in the UK who would like to see more of Britain and Europe:



London Sightseeing

The best introdution to England's capital city showing many of the main sights on a 1 hour guided tour. See Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Downing Street, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben & The Houses of Parliament. With your free time you can spend some time at the shops of Regent Street, Oxford Street & Carnaby Street or visit London's many museums or art galleries for free! You could also do the optional tours available to Madame Tussauds Wax Musuem (£15 half price ticket) and River Thames Boat Cruise (£5).

Oxford and Windsor

On the way to Oxford we make a morning stop in Windsor and Eton. You have the chance to see Windsor Castle, home of the Royal Family and Eton College, the place of study for Royalty including recently Prince William and Prince Harry. We continue to the University City of Oxford where you receive a guided walking tour of the colleges and historic buildings. See inside the famous Christchurch College where the Harry Potter films were made (optional, small entrance charge).

Brighton and Seven Sisters

Visit this cosmopolitan seaside town with its magnificent Royal Pavilion*, former home of King George IV. See the famous "Lanes" with their unusual shops & the Pier with fairground rides and amusement arcades. Afternoon visit to the Seven Sisters country park and a walk along the highest cliff face in England with optional fish and chip supper* (extra charge).

Canterbury and Leeds Castle

Morning visit to Leeds Castle (admission included), formerly a favourite of Henry VIII with its magnificent gardens, exotic bird aviary, maze and grotto. You will spend the afternoon in Canterbury, the centre of Christianity in England. We take you on a walk around the city walls and see the old Canterbury Castle, there will also be an optional visit to Canterbury Cathedral (optional, small entrance charge).

Paris & Versailles

Departs overnight Friday by coach & ferry to France arriving in Paris on Saturday morning. Visit the Eiffel Tower (€12) and take a boat trip along the River Seine (€8) before checking into our hotel in the afternoon. (all rooms based on twin share with en-suite and breakfast). Join our free illuminations tour with stops on the Champs Elysees and at the Eiffel Tower on Saturday night. Includes 1 night in Paris Hotel. Visit to Versailles Sunday morning. Returns late evening Sunday. Note: May 23 will have a Disneyland option  

Cambridge and Greenwich

In the morning we will visit the historic Borough of Greenwich in the East of London. Greenwich is home to the Royal Observatory, the place where global time is measured from, and the Maritime Museum. During lunch we will travel to Cambridge. When we arrive we will go on a walking tour to take a closer look at the University buildings. At the end of the tour we will visit Kings College with its magnificent chapel. (extra charge for admission)

Bath and Stonehenge

Morning visit to Stonehenge to see the ancient circle of stones (admission included). The afternoon will be spent in the beautiful city of Bath - a UN World Heritage Site, famous for its great architecture, including Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge, Royal Crescent and the ancient Roman Baths and museum (extra charge - tickets available on the bus).

Amsterdam & Bruges

Note: 2nd May now departing 24 hours later - Sat 3 May to Monday 5 May We make our way by ferry from Dover to Calais in France. During the night we wil make our way to our hotel just outside Amsterdam. On arrival at our hotel we will have breakfast before we make our way to the centre of Amsterdam. On arrival in Amsterdam we will take a walking tour seeing the museums and other famous sights. You will have the afternoon free before we meet up in the evening for a visit to the infamous Red Light District. Later on we will make our way to the hotel, rooms will be sharing in 2, 3 or 4. If you want to go back to the centre there are night buses which take about 20 mins. The next day we will visit a cheese and clog farm where you can get souvenirs and see how the clogs and cheese are made. After this you will be able to take pictures of a typical Dutch windmill before we make our way to Bruges. We will make a lunch stop in this beautiful Belgian city where you will be taken on a walking tour. After this we will visit a chocolate factory before making our way back to England.

Return by ferry to the New Forest to see the wild ponies in Britains newest National Park.

Stratford and the Cotswolds

Beautifully preserved with its 15th Century buildings, Stratford is the home of the world's most famous playwright, William Shakespeare, who was born in the town in 1564. On route to Stratford we will make a morning stop in the picturesque Cotswolds village of Bourton on the Water, a miniature Venice! In Stratford you can visit Shakespeare's birthplace and the Shakespeare Museum (extra charge) to learn about the world's most famous playwright. There are other Shakespearian properties in the town centre open to the public for an additional charge. We will make a photo stop at Anne Hathaways's cottage in the village of Shottery, home of Shakespeare's wife. The town has a good selection of shops, cafes and bars to enjoy and you can visit the church where Shakespeare is buried.

Lewes Fireworks Seven Sisters

An afternoon trip to the Seven Sisters country park, including a coffee stop in the pretty village of Alfiston and a walk along the famous White Cliff's at Beachy Head, the highest cliff face in England. A traditional Fish and Chip supper is included at Burling Gap restaurant, bar and coffee shop before heading to the Town of Lewes for Britain's biggest Bonfire night parade and fireworks spectacular which takes place around the town throughout the evening. (Late evening return). Fish and Chip supper included.

Cambridge

Walking tour of Cambridge's famous university sights including Trinity College and Kings College Chapel. Visit the Fitzwilliam museum, the excellent Saturday market and take a 'punt' on the river.

Oxford

See Oxford's famous sights on a guided walking tour. Visit Christchurch college and Cathedral (admission included) where scenes from the Harry Potter movies were filmed. See the university's other famous buildings; The Bodleian Library, Sheldonian Theatre and Radcliffe Camera. Free time in the afternoon for the shops and markets.

Rochester Castle & Dickensian Festival

An opportunity to explore the town of Charles Dickens, the famous novelist during which is street entertainment, parades and local folk in traditional costume. There will be an opportunity to visit the Dickens visitor centre dedicated to his life's works as well as a visit to The Ruins of Rochester Castle with its magnificent views across the River.

London Lights and Sights

An alternative London tour, including a chance to visit the cities finest museums free of charge, such as the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum as well as the British Museum. You will also have the chance to visit Harrods and Madame Tussauds.

Bath Christmas Markets

Day trip to the World Heritage City of Bath with a chance to enjoy the annual European style Christmas Market which has over 120 stalls. Sightseeing tour including Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge and Royal Crescent. There is also an opportunity to visit the famous Roman Baths Museum (extra charge).

London & Greenwich

Spend the morning in historic Greenwich and visit the Royal Observatory & Royal Naval College (free admission). Belgium & Germany

Overnight travel by coach and ferry or EUROTUNNEL to Belgium. On Saturday visit Brussels for a sightseeing tour, see the beautiful ‘Grand Place’, the famous Mannekin Pis and the impressive Atomium monument. Sunday visit Cologne in Germany on banks of river Rhine, visit museums, chocolate factory and more. Includes 1 nights Hotel accommodation, breakfast included. 2 or 3 sharing a room. Bank Holiday Weekend will have 2 nights Hotel accommodation. Return via beautiful city of Bruges in Belgium. Portsmouth Christmas Festival

This popular festive event at Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard includes a Christmas Market, with costumed entertainers, live music and arts and crafts at a French Market. Included is entrance to some of Britains most historic ships including the first metal battleship HMS Warrior, King Henry VIII's Mary Rose and Nelsons HMS Victory. There will also be an opportunity to visit Gunwharf Quay's, for factory outlet shopping and a chance to ascend the Spinnaker Tower for fabulos views over the harbour.

The weekend includes a myriad of exciting and vibrant spectacles for adults and children alike, with a hive of activity taking place for the celebrations. The crowds will be entertained by street theatre, the Shakespeare Morris Men, Children’s Country Dancing, the Band of the Corps of Royal Engineers and the Coventry Corps of Drums. Though the highlight of the weekend will undoubtedly be the Procession and the unfurling of the flags and laying of floral tributes at Holy Trinity Church, it is a wonderful day of partying enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

Amsterdam & The Bulbfields (Queens Birthday weekend)

Overnight travel to Holland with 2 nights Hotel based on 2/3 sharing. Spend Saturday exploring Amsterdam during the Queen of the Nehterlands Birthday weekend when the whole city parties and the streets are full of entertainment and carnivals. Visit the Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank's House, The Heinneken Beer Museum and take a trip on the Canals. In the evening your guide will take you on a tour of the famous red light district. Spend Sunday in the Dutch Countryside during the spectacular Bulbfield season, see the Windmills and visit a traditional Dutch Cheese maker and clog workshop. On Monday we travel into Belgium stopping for Lunch in Beautiful Bruges before returning to the UK.

Monaco F1 GP and French Riviera

Travel overnight by coach and ferry to the South of France with 2 nights Hotel on the French Riviera. Visit Cannes during the international film festival and on Sunday enjoy the most prestigious Motor race on the Grand Prix circuit on the streets of Monte Carlo. Returns Monday.

Half Day Tour of the Cotswolds

Join us for a half day tour of the beautiful Cotswolds with one of our guides. Visit a couple of the beautiful villages that make up the landscape of the historic part of England. Take a trip around the village of Bourton on the Water with its honey coloured houses and the River Windrush flowing through the centre. Also stop in the quaint village of Burford.

Alfriston, Beachy Head & Seven Sisters

An afternoon at the Seven Sisters country park and the beautiful Cuckmere Valley. There will be an opportunity to take a walk along the highest cliff face in Britain at Beachyhead with spectacular coastal views as well as a stop for 'cream teas' in the picturesque village of Alfriston, where you can visit the Historic Church. This tour is available to students in Brighton & Hove, departing in the afternoon and returning early evening.  

Arundel (including Castle admission)

An opportunity to visit the impressive Arundel Castle in West Sussex on a half day tour from Eastbourne, Brighton & Hove. Arundel is a pretty town with small streets, souvenir shops, cream teas and boat trips on the River Arun. The Castle, seat of the Duke of Norfolk, a cousin of the Queen dominates the town and you can enjoy a walk around Arundel Park and Swanbourne lake before returning early evening. *Admission to Castle is included in the tour price.
